PMU - Permanent Eyeliner in Cape Town(top and/or bottom lids)

Eyes are the “mirror to the soul”….

If you love the look of a fuller lash line, but lack the necessary steady hand, this is for you. With permanent eyeliner I insert colour into the lash line, mimicking the look of a darkened top lash line that stays on through sweat, sleep, and showers so you can look gorgeous 24/7. I strongly advise against thick top liner or cat eyes as they will droop as we age resulting in a permanently unflattering look

Mucosal eyeliner
A mucosal tissue eyeliner is unique, because it is applied to the tissue on the bottom inner line, just below the eye but above the lash. It is a dramatic look that complements and enhances the natural white of your eyes. I do not offer this procedure as it would entail having to tattoo over the Meibomian glands that line each eyelid. These glands are responsible for keeping our eyes moist with each blink. This procedure could lead to scarring of the rim of the eye where these glands are situated which could lead to permanent dry eyes. Since these glands dry up as women age we do not want to induce it prematurely for the sake of vanity or convenience.

What is the eyeliner procedure like?
From start to finish the procedure could take 1.5hrs. A rotary pen with appropriate needle size is used for this procedure. All needles are opened in the presence of the client – we do not share needles!  A Topical anaesthetic is used throughout the procedure to maximise client comfort. Although this and other permanent makeup procedures produce some discomfort it is often nowhere near the pain the person was anticipating.

Aftercare:
Do not touch your eyes, keep them dry (no water) and no makeup, especially mascara, for at least 72 hours. Do not pick at your eyelids and it may cause pigment loss in that area

Risks:
Eye infections can occur if you wear makeup too soon or rub anything into your eyes.  Eyelash loss – a rare occurrence as I haven’t seen or experienced this personally, but warrants mentioning.

Permanent Eyebrow Tattoo/shadow in Cape Town

Eyebrows are one of our most important features as they frame the face. The eyebrow tattoo is a solid looking flat tattoo very popular with ladies sporting sparse to no natural eyebrows as a result of over plucking or compulsive hair pulling disorder.

What is the procedure like?
From start to finish the procedure could take 1.5hrs-2 hrs.

Aftercare:
Do not get your eyebrows wet during the healing phase. As tempting as it may be…do not pick at them as it will result in pigment loss in that area….in other words “leave them alone”. A topical ointment can be applied if you are the “picky” type.

Risks:
Minimal to no risk with proper at home care and by following the instructions provided by the technician after the procedure.

Lip Liner / Full Lip colour in Cape Town

"Your lips are the most sensitive, so this is deemed the most painful form of permanent makeup for most clients. However, our topical numbing agents work very well making this procedure more than bearable, in my opinion.  It takes care of 70% of the discomfort so you have to take care of the rest.  I do not use injectable numbing agents as they could distort the shape of the lips – and you wouldn’t be happy with a skew lip line, now would you? If you are not convinced then rather opt out of the procedure and rather continue using your favourite lipstick.

What is the procedure like?
From start to finish the procedure could take 2 hours. A rotary pen with various needle sizes is used for this procedure. All needles are opened in the presence of the client – we do not share needles!

Aftercare:
Your lips will appear dark immediately after the procedure so don’t panic. This is normal. However, be prepared to lose up to 50-70% of the colour during the first week of healing. Remember, no spicy foods and keep the lips moistened by using the topical ointment provided. Lips will feel tight and cracked during the healing period (from day 3) BUT DO NOT PICK AT THEM as this too shall pass.

Let’s get straight to it and clear up a few misconceptions regarding lip tattoo’s…

A full lip tattoo will not give you the solid matt appearance of your favourite lipstick as many salons advertise on their websites.. The reality is that you will have a subtle matt lip stain rather than a full solid colour which is only really achievable when applying lipstick - so do not throw away your favorite lipsticks.

Risks:
Expect some swelling for a day or 2 post procedure. This is normal.

Should you be prone to cold sores then these nasties will most likely start to develop on your lips within 2-3 days post procedure. To avoid or reduce the risks of this occurring consider a prophylaxis , such as VALTREX , avail at most leading pharmacies . Being personally prone to cold sores I can also recommend taking Lysine 1000mg tablets (available at most pharmacies) for 7 days prior and 7 days after the procedure. It has proven to be effective.
